Your Opportunity

We are seeking a proactive Project Coordinator to provide project oversight, coordination and administration support to our Forest Growers programme. You will work closely with the Head of Forest Research to deliver key programme outcomes to members and stakeholders.

Day to day in this role you will:

  • Provide project management oversight of externally led RD&E projects, including participating in project meetings, review of milestone reports, and tracking of progress against milestones and budgets.
  • Contribute to procurement of RD&E services and consultancies, including scoping, tendering and contracting in accordance with FWPA processes.
  • Engaging with members and other stakeholders, such as FWPA member advisory and interest groups.
  • Coordinating the evaluation of research proposals against key criteria in a deadline driven environment.
  • Coordinating technical content and program information to enable effective communication about program outcomes and opportunities
  • Facilitate independent peer reviews of research outputs, findings, and reports.
  • Organise and participate in program meetings by coordinating calendars, preparing agendas, taking minutes, drafting reports, and following up on action items.
  • Liaise with members, research providers and other stakeholders.

Whilst we are looking for specific skills, we are open to developing and supporting you if you are a great team fit. Ideally, we are seeking:

  • Project or research management experience preferably in forestry, natural resource management or other primary production.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications, such as forest science, natural resource management, agriculture, fisheries, spatial planning science or remote sensing.
  • Strong organisation, attention to detail and coordination abilities.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills with demonstrated experience communicating with stakeholders.
  • Intermediate Microsoft Word and Excel skills.
  • Experience working within a research field will be well received.
