The Opportunity:

We have a fantastic an opportunity for a self-motivated and dedicated individual to join the Bathurst area team as a Plant Assessment Officer for 12 months.

About the role:

The purpose of this role is to support manage staff and contractors to develop, enhance and protect the plantation estate by implementing operational activities, including finalising the preparation of site-based plans, supervision and quality control of field activities that are consistent with the Forest Management Plans

 

We would love you to have/be:

·       Proven organisational skills – ability to plan and prioritise work, meet standards and deadlines

·       Knowledge and/or understanding of forestry management and protection, which may include weed and pest control, fire management, planning and suppression.

·       Effective use of required technology (e.g. iPad, phone Apps, email and corporate web-based systems).

·       Sound knowledge and understanding of relevant industry codes of practice

·       Experience or the ability to obtain qualifications in chemical application, chainsaw operation, and drone use.

·       Knowledge and understanding of forestry management and protection, including weed and pest control, fire management, planning and suppression, and silviculture.

·       Relevant tertiary qualifications.
